May I introduce my latest member of the “tools I don’t know how I did without” family?

Meet Nancy:

Meet Nancy

I found her in a charity shop, for £3 and with a lid. Sadly, tho, the lid jumped off my mantle shelf and self-destructed. And because I was in need of a pin cushion (can you believe that I didn’t own a single one??), I just grabbed a wad of fleece I keep around for needle felting, stuffed it in there and gave it some good jabs with the felting needles.

She needs a bit more work, but is fully functional as it is – and rather pretty, if I say so myself 😀 Well, I’m pleased as punch, anyways, lol. Oh, and her name is Nancy because it’s signed by “Nancy Overend”. Simples.

I also made some progress on the hexis:

Hexi progress

Looks rather nice to me, and when I saw it, I immediately abandoned all reason (like making this into a pillow) and decided it’ll have to become at least a lap blanket.

That’s partly because I’m a little bit in love with it – all of it, the process of making it, and the way it turned out. Considering it’s my first time, only one serious pucker makes me feel accomplished 😀

One big crumple

And that’s something I can use right now.

Love all things vintage, especially knitting from the victorian era through to the swinging twenties.
